Stone Beer 2022 was made with a range of the highest quality Australian malts from Voyager Craft Malt and native wattle-seed. Pouring dark brown, this decadent brew begins with rich and chocolatey aromas, followed by dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and toffee flavours on the palate and finishes with a firm bitterness.

A limited-edition wood fired porter, Stone Beer is perfect for cold nights, sitting by the fire, beer in hand with mates.

Description

This winter, we honour the past and embrace the future with the release of our bold dark porter, Stone Beer 2022. In respect to tradition, we’ve employed ancient brewing techniques by setting wood fired stones in the kettle. In respect to the future, we’ve used regenerative grain, sourced from farms that replenish and restore the earth they toil.

Malt

Description

The majority of this year's malts are from Barret Burston in Brisbane & Voyager malts from the Riverina, that were chosen for their different flavours, colours and aroma. A small amount of German Weyerman Carared was used to aid in colour and flavour to go with the caramelised hot stones.

Hops

Description

German Tettnang hops were used for bitterness & slight flavour and to balance with the wattle-seed additions, that was added for an extra depth of flavour & aroma. The wattle-seed adds some hazelnut, chocolate & coffee tones.

Food Pairing

Description

Best enjoyed with mates by a fire somewhere, we also suggest pairing this dark beauty with a rich chocolate cake or a serving of nonna’s tiramisu.
